The new TV doesn’t have RCA out for audio, so in order to use my stereo I needed a DAC. If you need a DAC and don’t wanna spend a ton, the Topping E30 is pretty damn nice. I also now effectively have a volume remote for a 70s receiver, so that’s cool.

I looked at an E30 Tuesday night.
It had nasty hail damage, but nevertheless ended up in a bidding war. Good luck with your new topping.

Schiit man, Schiit.
(Seriously though, nice DAC!)

I’ve got an older D30. Killer little DAC for the $$.
Congrats.

Schitt DACs... best bang for buck, anywhere.

I was strongly considering some Schiit, but the remote was too tempting

Yeah I was choosing between a Schiit or this Topping. The Schiit would probably be better, but this is still better than whatever the internal DAC was in my old TV, plus it has a remote which is really what won me over

I say it only tongue-in-cheek because I always claim Schitt reclaimed my audio life... All those CDs that sounded so lifeless via cheap-ass CD player CODECs? Suddenly came to life after I digitized the whole lot (over 2000 CDs) into raw .WAV files and ran ‘em through a real DAC.
And, no, I have no idea why high-end-ish Video gear like huge 4K panels from highly-regarded vendors have such shyte audio processing. But, they do.
